Time Has Come Today

It was the summer of 1968 and Mad Dog 16, CW2 Mike Forrester hadn't been in the 240th Assault Helicopter Company that long. He was transferred over from the 191st Guns, The Bounty Hunters, and when he took off with his Mad Dog crew, one of the men in back was SP4 Doorgunner, Danny Clark. They were hoping to hunt down and find the enemy, which they did, but unfortunately "Charlie" got off a lucky shot which wounded Danny severely. Mike Forrester immediately broke off contact and started flying towards the nearest EVAC Hospital where Danny was immediately wheeled into surgery. Danny never made it back to the 240th AHC Gun Platoon and that was the last time the two saw each other until May of 2008! Yes, Danny made it and Mike went on to an illustrious flying career in the Mad Dogs until the summer of 1970. They contacted each other through the 240th AHC websites and Danny flew to Dunnellon, Florida and he and Mad Dog 16 finally reunited after forty years! This is a picture of Mike Forrester and Danny Clark finally together after all these years!

Mike Forrester, Mad Dog 16, and his doorgunner, SP4 Danny Clark, reunited this summer after not having seen each other for forty years. The war stories were better than ever, the rum and coke were flowing and the "you should have seen the one that got away" can be verified with these pictures!

This is what Mad Dog 16, Mike Forrester and Danny Clark passed along their way to the Gulf for a day of drinking and fishing, I mean fishing and drinking. Danny says Mad Dog 16 calls them, "Man eaters!" Ragman is looking forward to visiting 16 in the not to distant future and his old aircraft commander always mentions about going fishing! Ragman is really thinking hard about that now! lol Thanks to Danny Lee Clark, Sr for contributing the pictures and allowing Linda and I to make him a part of the 240th websites; we are honored, Danny, to have you with us!
