MAD DOG ~ GREYHOUND PHOTOS, PAGE ONE




This is a picture of Mad Dog Gunship 66-15065 just after it crashed on January 17th, 1970. The crew consisted of CW2 Phil Eichler the Aircraft Commander, Mad Dog 10; copilot, Captain Byrd; crewchief/gunner,Steve Watts, on the left side of the picture; gunner, Bill Clark, clutching his M16 rifle on the right.
The crew was returning to Bearcat from a mission when the shipped crashed about 6 miles southwest of our airfield. Bill Clark was knocked unconscious but recovered before the rotor blades of the aircraft stopped turning. Captain Doug Price, Mad Dog 6, who was flying in the wing gunship to CW2 Phil Eichler on this day, took the picture.
