A Tribute To Mr. Hertz And Mr. Seaborn
We want to thank Mr. Felix Bates, AKA, "The Frito Bandito" also known by his call signs, Greyhound 13 and Kennel Keeper 13, for sending these pictures of Mr. Seaborn which were sent to "The Frito Bandito" by one of Mr. Seaborn's classmates in Flight School, Ken Polack. We thank Mr. Polack and Mr. Bates for allowing us to post these pictures on "LZ of the 240th." Without all of the pictures and memorabilia sent to us by our 240th Brothers and their families, these sites wouldn't be what they are and that also includes the many, many contributions from our lovely webmistress, Ms. Linda Luther. If anyone wants to have a page(s) made for them just let us know. We would certainly welcome your contributions and would be honored to have you as part of the 240th family websites, LZ and Flightline.
The first photo for this page, above, is of Mr. Ken Polack (left) and Mr. Seaborn (right) and was taken at Fort Hood, Texas before they were assigned to Vietnam with Mr. Seaborn coming to the 240th AHC.
This picture shows four young Army Aviators with Mr. Ken Polack on the far left and Mr. Seaborn on the far right. How many of you out there remember that Schiltz beer? hahaha
What a wonderful picture sent to us via Mr. Belix Bates, The Frito Bandito! This photograph shows the sign that was put in place naming the airfield at Bearcat in honor of Mr. Hertz and Mr. Seaborn, both KIA within less than three weeks of each other; 1/3/71 and 1/22/71 perspectively. How we all wish it wasn't so, that any of our 240th Brothers and all the other Americans on The Wall weren't there, but we can't change the past and it is our duty to make sure the people of America NEVER forgets their Ultimate Sacrifice they made when called to war.
